Hello Peoples! I just got back from the great city of Kyiv where we
showed 13 new Americans all the cool sights. I think if I see st.
Michael's cathederal one more time...
The team is really great, I think, and our orientation has been going
pretty good. Okay, I've gotta tell you about the Pope. Josh, one of
the summer staff guys, bought a candle from the dollar store that has
a picture (a really tacky one) of the former Pope, J.P. II, as we call
him. He has become our mascot, the eleventh All Summer Staff
(abbreviate that for fun. It's what Oleg calls us anyway) and goes
with us everywhere. Josh is very protective of JP, (Astarozhna!
Careful! He always makes us use 2 hands to hold him) We have
pictures of the Pope brushing his teeth, holding the spirit stick,
drinking kvass (this drink that's kinda like root beer, but grosser.
JOsh loves it and so does the Pope.) taking a nap, taking a shower,
chilling in the freezer, riding the metro, playing the drums,
sliding down the slide, and tomorrow he's going to address the
multitudes from our balcony. He's very excited about tomorrow.
Okay, well, the Pope needs to go to bed. And he needs to prepare for
his speech tomorrow.
So I will leave you now.
Arrivederci!

Disclaimer- For those Catholics who may be reading my blog, those of
us at Radooga camp really do respect the Pope and all he has done. We
are in no way dissing the Pope or his legacy, we are only making fun
of the Dollar Store and it's cheap wax representations of great
historical figures.
