There's got to be more to life than being really-really ridiculously good looking...

After Bible Study tonight we watched one of my favorite movies, Zoolander. That's probably one of the best quoteable movies out there. Napolean Dynamite really doesn't compare...I mean, come on, does "Gosh" and "lucky" really compare to these?

Derek: "If there's anything that this horrible tragedy can teach us it's that a male model's life is a precious, precious commodity. Just because we have chiseled abs and stunning features it doesn't mean that we too can't not die in a freak-gasoline-fight-accident."

Hansel: "Richard Gere's a real hero of mine. Sting. Sting would be another person who's a hero. The music that he's created over the years-- I don't really listen to it, but the fact that he's making it, I respect that."

Derek: Mermaaaan!

Matilda: Every day after school I would come home and you know, I'd flip through the pages of my mom's Vogue and Glamour and ...I'd just...I'd look at these women... These perfect, beautiful... just unbelievably skinny women. I just couldn't - Oh, I just couldn't understand why I didn't look like them. I just didn't get it. So um...so I became...
Hansel: What?
Matilda: Bulimic.
Zoolander: You can read minds?

Matilda: Derek, how did you decide you wanted to become a male model?
Derek Zoolander: Well, I guess it started during my first year of the second grade, when I was eating lunch and caught my reflection in a spoon, and I thought to myself, 'Hey, Derek, you're ridiculously good looking!' And I thought maybe I could do that for a career.
Matilda: Do what for a career?
Derek Zoolander: Be professionally good looking.

Hansel: "I care desperately about what I do. Do I know what product I'm selling? No. Do I know what I'm doing today? No. But I'm here, and I'm gonna give it my best shot."

Derek: "You think you're too cool for school. But I've got a news flash for you, Walter Cronkite- you aren't."

Mugatu: "Without much further ado, I give you the Derek Zoolander Center for Kids Who Can't Read Good."
Derek: "What is this? A center for ants?"
Mugatu: "What?"
Derek: "How can we be expected to teach children to learn how to read if the can't even fit inside the building?"
Mugatu: "Derek, It's just a small model..."
Derek: "I don't want to hear your excuses! The center has to be at least... three times bigger than this."

Oh, we were laughing so hard. I don't have anything real intelligent to say today, watching movies about male models lowers one's IQ quite a bit. I will say that tomorrow we are halfway through with the semester!!! Ypa!!!!
On Saturday I get to go to my favorite place in the Western Hemisphere! I'm so pumped. Maybe we'll see manatees again. That would be exciting. Okay, I'm going to bed now. Arrivederci!

Ya Wanna Buy a Walrus? A what? A Walrus? Does it....uh, eat...fish? Of course it does.

Privyet Krasapetee! I just got done doing a bunch of homework and I still have more...but I don't feel like doing it, so instead I am wasting time until 1:00 because I'm gonna call Lori.

In just 13 short days it will be Halloween and I get to be a pirate. Arrrrr! I'm excited about that. I know I was already a pirate once this year, but one can never be a pirate too often. If I wasn't a Christian I'd probably be a pirate. Looting, plundering, boats, parrots, cool hair, the ocean, sword fighing. Sounds very exciting. Either that or I'd work at SeaWorld. You still get boats, parrots, and the ocean, and I suppose you can have cool hair if you want. And you get seals and dolphins and whales. And manatees. And walruses. Walruses are really awesome animals. I mean, they weigh thousands of pounds but are still really graceful in the water. It's weird. Have you been to SeaWorld and watched the walruses? They're amazing. But Clyde and Seamore are my favorite. Me and Lori always said that'd be the funnest job ever. (I think she may have found a better one, though.) But I always figured God probably didn't want me to devote my life to feeding sardines to seals. I mean, I'm sure He likes seals and all, but I'd kinda like to do something more worthwhile with my life. But I will still visit SeaWorld every chance I get.

How did I start talking about seals? I don't remember. Today was great. I got an email from my friend Sveta Omelchenko and that was exciting. I love emails. And the 2 hour meeting that I had to go to tonight about how to request money from SAC for Russian clubat FSU turned out to only be about 45 minutes, so I got to come home early. Yppppaaaa! I have to go to an accounting workshop tomorrow, though...meh.

Okay, well, I'm gonna go call my favorite person in the Eastern Hemisphere now. (That's for you, Todd.) Arrivederci!

Smokey the Bear Says...

This is it. 64 beautiful ounces. That is a half a gallon, people.
Okay, the story. So, Carli really likes Slurpees from 7 Eleven and so me, her, Chaz, Jenna, Nicole and Trishka went to 7 Eleven to get them. Well, I'm not a big fan. I tried one and I sorta choked on it, and I coughed for about 5 straight minutes, so I was just gonna get a 20-ounce drink. Then I spotted this. Only 20 cents more than a 20-ounce coke, people. I was thinking, "That is the most amazing cup ever." It's plastic, washable and I can't even hold it in one hand. It was going to be my souvenir from Orlando. Some people pick up a stuffed Shamu, others Mickey Mouse action figure, but I would be taking home a 64-ounce, half gallon cup from a 7 Eleven outside Eustice. And it rocks the house.

This was taken last night at youth. Lerah is quite possibly the coolest person ever.

Yeah, so I come around the corner at youth last night and Kenley's rolling around on the floor. I have no idea why. Honestly I don't really care. The fact that he was rolling on the floor was enough for me. :0) Maybe he had a reason; maybe he just wanted to roll around on the floor. The world may never know. He should go on one of those "only you can prevent forest fires" commercials, because he's definitely got "Stop, Drop, and Roll" down.
I'm emailing my favorite person ever and then I'm going to bed. Arrivederci!

"I'd Wear a CARPET if it was $1.25!"

Okay, so this weekend was totally amazing. Me and Jenna had such a great time. I have so many pictures, so I'm just kinda put them up and say what happened. I don't have any of the ones from when Trishka and Nicole came to Carli's house because I didn't take my camera on the boat, so I have to wait til Carli sends me those, so just use your imagination.

The Car Ride
Car rides are very entertaining when cameras are involved. Oh, and of course Michael W. Smith marathons. We found out Carli's not a fan, but then, I don't like Moe's, so I guess we're even. (It's okay, I still have my friendship ring on. :0)

Rest Area near Ocala. "You are here!"

Jenna was really pumped about that vending machine...I think she'd been in the car a little too long.

Uh-oh, Jenna. Oh, but they're only nighttime security. So, you're fine. We don't have to put that coke machine back.

wow. isn't it just amazing how different my hair looks...

The Arrival
Okay, Carli's house is freakin' awesome. Her room is orange, which is, in itself amazing, but she has pictures EVERYWHERE and it's just the coolest room. I love it. Friday night we just hung out, made a run to the 7-11 and saw UCF campus. (which is huge, by the way. It's like a small city.)

Such a terrible picture, but I love it. We're standing underneath the rec flag Carli made this year for camp and it's pinned to her ceiling. It's so great. And there's a Ukrainian flag on the back of her door, so we took a picture with the timer. (Timers are awesome.)

Saturday

Saturday we got up and went to Carli's parent's house and hung out with Trisha and Nicole. We picked up Chaz (Chaz is from Tampa and he's from JJ's church in Tampa and he went to Ukraine 2 years ago, so I know him from Ukraine. He just happens to be really good friends with Carli because they met at school. How weird is that? It's a small world...) We got to go on the boat and it was so relaxing. Jenna lost her power-puff girls watch, though. Chaz made a heroic effort to try to save it, though. But it's at the bottom of the lake somewhere.
Then we called Dwayne (also from Tampa and I know him from Ukraine last year) and told him he needed to drive up to see us because I haven't seen him since last september. He said he had to work and couldn't come, but he surprised us! And Arielle and Dorothy came too! Ironically enough, even though they were supposed to call each other, they drove separately and didn't know the other was coming. Come on, guys... J/K. So we met at Chili's for dinner and it was pretty much the funnest time I've ever had in a restaurant. (Except that FSU lost, but Chaz made some amusing comments about Drew Weatherford because he played highschool football with him and that was entertaining.)
We went back to Chaz's apartment to hang out and it was so fun.

Getting ready to go to Chili's

Gotta love it.

Me and Chaz sitting on the bench outside Chili's waiting for them to call our table.

Chaz needs a picture for the xanga he promised he would make. So this is gonna be his profile pic. :0)

Me and Dwanye.

Dwanye, Jenna, Carli and Arielle

Bonding moment. Dwanye has the freakly biggest tongue I've ever seen, and mine's like the freakliest smallest tongue ever.

Chaz, Dwayne (oh dear...), Carli, Jenna, Dorothy, and Arielle (By the way, Carli's outfit is the cutest ever!)

Mid-air. That is amazing. All I have to say about that.

Once again, timers are amazing things.

So, I'll post more pictures as I get them from people. It was such a good weekend. Arrivederci!

We're At Carli's!

Me and Jenshka got to Carli's house last night. We went to a sketchy Taco Bell that closed the lobby at 8:45...something about the computer being broken. Apparently they couldn't make change without a computer. That's just sad...
Then we got to Carli's and we just hung out and we layed on the sidewalk and looked at stars. It was really fun.
Today we went to Carli's parents' house in Eustice and her brother Corbin took us out on their boat and we went tubing and stuff. Nicole and Trishka came from Tampa and Chaz came with us. So good. :0) It was great to see everybody.
Arielle's coming tonight!!! She's on her way from Tampa. We're pumped.
Okay, sorry this was so boring. I'm just trying to keep y'all up to date. And I can't get a hold of mom on her cellphone, so I figure she'll probably check this before I talk to her. :0) Oh technology.
Arrivederci!

It's What You've All Been Waiting For

Okay, listen. Cameron's been playing World of Warcraft for what seems to be the last decade or so, so I haven't been able to get to my computer and post these yet, ladies. I'm very sorry. If you'd like to join me on my sleep schedule, then you can just view them at the normal time I usually post which is usually around 1:00 in the morning. We're a little late today, but it's all good. I don't have human geography in the morning (what a tragedy. I cried when I heard it. There was a tear...) so I can sleep til 10:00! True Story! (in the singsong voice for Jenshka.) So, for those of you who are not privleged enough to be in Pink Carpet Bible Study, whether that is because you are not of the female gender or you're not in highschool or you live far, far away, I would like to tell you all that we had a hair dying party tonight. Oh yes. And it was awesome. First we waited for everyone to get here. First Jenshka (I know. Jenna was first. It's okay, your world isn't crashing down on you. It's just a fluke thing, I'm sure.) then Leah, Lerah, Bakah and Grace (heck yes! Grace came!) got here and we hung out for a little while and ate tostidos that looked like ghosts and pumpkins. (One of them looked just like a yozhek! I took a picture, but it wasn't on the memory card, so I can't post it. Meh.) Then we read Hebrews 6, which isn't exactly the easiest chapter to figure out, but I think we did a pretty good job. And Grace read us some of the book she's reading by Andy Stanley and it was awesome. (I love Andy Stanley.) I'm really glad she read that. I wanna go out and buy that book now. Too bad I can't remember the title...
Then we went to CVS and bought hair dye and I got this kind that was supposed to make my hair look a lot redder, but it dyed my hair pretty much the exact same color it was before...go figure. Like, I don't think anyone will notice if they don't know already. oh well. Lerah's and Jenshka's look really cool. Grace and Rebekah were our hair stylists for the evening. I can't wait until Bakah owns her own hair salon. I will drive all the way to Jacksonville just to get my hair done by her. ("Say girls. Where you get your hair did?":0)
So here's some pictures:

Me, Jenna and Lerah before the hair dye...

I'm stealing Grace's glasses.

Jenshka was first...

Lerah was next... (she's gonna kill me for this one...)

And I was last. Poor Grace. She did such a good job, but no one will know. It's the same color!!! Meh!

BAKAH!

What better way to pass the time than to eat mint chocolate chip ice cream?

What hotties

Check out Jenshka's freakin' awesome hair.

Me after I get done blowdrying and realize..."Hey. This is the same color..."

Meh. Oh well. It was still really fun. And next time I'll just get something really random, since none of us actually turned out hair the colors that were on the boxes. They lie.
Well, in 12 short hours I will be on my way to see the one and only Carli Bogeajis!!! (She probably is the only Carli Bojeajis. Do you know anyone with the last name of "Bogeajis?" I didn't think so.)
Oh, so I re-learned how to make paper footballs today. That was very exciting. I told Oleg Jr. and Lori they needed to have a paperfootball fight, but Lori couldn't remember how to make paperfootballs and I laughed at her and started trying to make one...and, well...I couldn't. So I had to look it up. Isn't that sad? I mean, how pathetic is that? But, in my defense, Cameron is an excellent paperfootball maker, so when we played, I always played with the ones he made. So here's the picture of the paper football I made. :0)

Hope y'all have a great day! Arrivederci!

Bubble-icious!

Quote o'the day:

"Why chew something if you're not gonna swallow it?"

This is what my brother, Cameron, said in response to my questioning him about why he just consumed 2 giant packs of "Big Chew" bubble gum. I'm just holding the 2 packages going, "Cameron...why?" He simply doesn't see anything wrong with swallowing mass amounts of bubble gum. And this kid consumes massive amounts of bubble gum, let me tell you.

But I think that's why he's so skinny. You see, his stomach is full of bubble gum! So he doesn't have room for much else. He can't fit much in there. Maybe I need to start swallowing my bubble gum.

Me and my little bubblegum-delinquent brother just got home from his football game. GREAT game. Leon beat Lincoln 14-13. It was a nail biter til the last 46 seconds when Lincoln had just scored a touchdown and were going for the 2 point conversion to win it. The receiver leaped in the air and caught it despite the 2 leon guys right on him and he held onto that thing and fell to the ground...on the 1-yard line. So sad...not. So it was a close one. Christian got to punt!!! Shout outs to Christian Horton who is not only a star skateboarder, but now a star punter too. Me and Cam just got done watching this awesome show on the Discovery channel about bugs that live in Alaska. Random, I know. Did you know that there are worms that live in glaciers and if the air around them rises about freezing, they explode?! How cool is that!? And there are Alaskan stink bugs that are able to hibernate all through the winter and their blood doesn't freeze even when the air around them is like 40 below zero. Awesome. God is so cool. He makes ice worms and alaskan stink bugs. That amazes me. And did you know the tongue of a great blue whale weighs over 8,000 pounds? I've found something with a weirder tongue than me. :0) An 8,000 pound tongue is a lot worse than a short one. At least that's my personal opinion. Maybe a whale would think otherwise, I don't know. I haven't asked one.

I've only got one more thing to say. "Hey guys...watch thees...my ipod....team 7!" That's from Carli. I have it stuck in my head. "2 Days! Raz, dva, raz, dva, raz, dva!" Arrivederci!

"Stayin' Alive"

Just sitting here listening to the Bee Gees sing about what I'm attempting to do right now, trying to keep my head afloat in the midst of all this stupid homework. It's all right though, because in just 3 short days I will be on my way to Orlando with Jenshka to see Carli and that will make everything okay.

I went on a MoMo's outing with Bakah and we got pizza with ranch dressing. (But you can only ask for the ranch dressing after they bring you the pizza, otherwise they'll charge you for it. Sneaky, I know.) Then we came back to my house and had a quick shaving party. OH! And Bakah fixed my cable! And my microphone/headphone thingy. SO GOOD! I love her. I'd love her anyway, but that is just awesome.

I'm going to bed because it is really late and I have a test tomorrow. Meh. Is it Thursday yet?
Spoki Noki vsyem! Arrivederci!

Wow, me and Jenna just got home from Russian Club and it was so fun! We watched half (it's a long movie...) of the Return of the King in Russian.

So good. I didn't understand a lot, but I did understand more than I did last time I watched a movie in Russian, so that was cool. Then we went to Walmart to see Svetlana because she couldn't come 'cause she had to work and picked up some hair dye and a microphone headset thingy. (She probably wonders why we're at Walmart so much. You know, I wonder that too...) And now I'm here at home eatin' cheese-its. Not very exciting. But hopefully since I'm not doing anything exciting that means I will go to bed early tonight. We'll see. It's not looking promising...

On to other news...speaking of news, I have no idea what's going on in the world anymore 1) because I have no time to watch TV and 2) because channel 44 (FoxNews) no longer comes in on my TV. While I was gone this summer someone *cough* Chris and Cameron broke my TV and now my cable doesn't work except for like the first 20 channels. In case you don't know, nothing good really comes on those except ABC, CBS, FOX and ESPN. All but one of those you get without cable, so I'd be just as well off as if I unhooked the cable. I don't get any of the channels I ever watched (FoxNews, the History Channel and TV Land) so I don't ever turn on my TV anymore. It's probably better I don't have it, but I miss watching Cheers and Fresh Prince.

Yes! The Steelers just beat the Chargers 24-23. Rock on. Okay, I'm gonna attempt to go to bed now. I'll leave you with pictures of me and Cameron at his Lion Steel drum concert on Saturday.

Arrivederci!

Where's That Darn Snooze Button

I haven't died. I really haven't. Jenna was like, "Calyn, if you don't post on your blog for 2 days we have to check to see if you're still alive." So I'm posting so that all of you don't think I've gone off to the happy hunting ground or anything. I should be studying for a geography midterm right now, but I'm not. I came home to do that and installed powerpoint and just printed out like, 50 gazillion pages of notes and I'm trying to get myself motivated about learning all of that. .. Nope. Still not excited.
Me and Lerah and Jenna had another Lost party last night. We got home from Grace's Birthday Party (happy birthday, Grace!) and I watched the last few minutes of the Ohio State/Penn State Game (heck, yes, Penn State! So good.) and then we started watching Lost. They found Claire. We were so relieved. Too bad she has amnesia...And we made our famous can of diet soda carrot cake cupcakes and drank coke zero, so we were very happy people. At about 2:05 last night (in the midst of the fourth episode of disc 4) I hear my cellphone going off and Jenna says, "Carli!" And I say, "or Jake." Sure enough, on the screen reads "Jake E. Poo" so I pick it up and I say, "Um, hello?" and I hear "Why are you still awake?" And I say, "Why are you calling me if you thought I'd be asleep?" And he says, "Well, it's like this. Listen, you know how when we were in Ukraine and I would ask Lori, 'Hey, Lori. You want some chocolate?' knowing good and well she'd say no because she doesn't like chocolate and I was just asking so that I would look like a nice person when really I knew she wasn't gonna take my chocolate?" And I was like, "um, yeah" and then he says, "Well, I was just calling so that next time we talk I could be like, 'oh, hey. I called you.'"
I'm not really sure what all that was about because it was after 2 in the morning, but it was pretty funny and made me laugh. So we went to bed at like, 3, which wasn't good because we had to get up at 8:15 this morning. Why, why, why? So now I'm really tired, but I will have to survive until after wednesday...if I can just make it until Wednesday...Cause I get to sleep in on Thursday mornings and that's the only way I make it. I just tell myself, "It's okay. Thursday's only 3 days away," or whatever.
So the girls of Pink Carpet Bible Study have decided that we're having a hair dying party, which I think is pretty awesome because a bunch of us were talking about wanting to dye our hair, so we're getting together at 6:00 to buy hair color and we're gonna dye our hair. Not anything weird, like pink (although pink would be rather appropriate for Pink Carpet Bible Study) just normal stuff. And not permanent. Just the 24-wash kind. Well, I think Lerah's gonna do permanent, but she's a pretty capable hair dyer, so she should be fine.
Pues, I had lots of stuff to blog about but I can't remember it at the moment. Actually, I dont' remember a whole lot at the moment 1.) because my mind is occupied by geography definitions and economics notes and 2.) because my memory lives 6,000 miles away, so it's not a real efficient system.
Arrivederci!

Hugh Jackman, Michael Moore, Meg Ryan and Ghandi

I am sitting here quite comfortably tonight in a oversized blue sweatshirt and Jenna's penguin pajama pants and I have a confession to make. I am not watching the Yankees play the Angels. In fact, I only turned to ESPN one time. Instead I am watching Kate and Leopold on TBS. I'm sorry, Todd. I've failed you. There's just something about that movie. If only all guys hailed from the 18th century...so respectful, so polite, so...nice. Although, a guy at school did hold the door open for me today. He didn't have a British accent, however. And Hugh Jackson with a British accent AND from the 18th century is hard to beat. "E" for effort, though.
Today was a busy day. I hate it when people just list the things they do during the day because, quite honestly, it's very boring, but my entire day really was a long list of happenings, however I won't bore you with the details. Things of note were: an encounter with a young buzzed-cut man wearing a suit and tie with a large sign that exclaimed,
"The End is Near! -so come see my band,"
a viewing of a documentary made by one of my *cough* favorite people in the world, Michael Moore (fortunately having nothing whatsoever to do with politics. It was made in 1988, and although a Bush was in office then, he was not mentioned.), getting tutored in the pronunciation of the Serbian alphabet by my Serbian economics teacher, Dr. Adomovich, and a visit to the beloved home of fine latin-american cuisine, El Taco Bell where I purchased a soft taco and a beef supreme gordita. It doesn't get much better than that.
Before I forget, the infamous Lerah Ashburn has finally created a blog! Well, a xanga, actually, but we won't fault her for that. :0) The address is: www.xanga.com/highwaydrive.
Well, I'm gonna go watch Meg Ryan fall in love. Oh, one last thing. My Mom sent me this forward today, and I thought it was really funny. Reminds me of a song...

Mahatma Gandhi, as you know, walked barefoot most of the time, which produced an impressive set of calluses on his feet. He also ate very little, which made him rather frail and with his odd diet, he suffered from bad breath. This made him ..(Oh, man, this is so bad, it's good).... A super calloused fragile mystic hexed by halitosis.
If you're staring at that going, "I don't get it," go watch Mary Poppins. It'll clear it up for ya. Arrivederci!

Because I Turned On Word Verification

I just learned the Serbian and Ukrainian alphabets for my Slavic Culture class. It was very exciting. Of course, I don't know either of those languages, but it's still cool to know their alphabets. They're a lot like Russian, but kinda different.
Serbian has some really cool random letters:

And of course Ukrainian is awesome:

I'm trying to call Lori, but the phone card company hasn't emailed me my pin number yet...they said it would be in the next five minutes and it's been more than 4...oh, oh, 5. Liars. Лгуны. All of them. Grrrr.
So now I'm gonna go to bed. Because it's 2:00 in the morning and why do I do this every night? It's like the only time I can be productive and do homework. If I try to do homework in the afternoon, I just don't focus. It has to be after 11:00. Why is that?

Arrivederci!

Mullet Gazing

So, tonight was Tamara and Janelle's 18th birthday party at the Stringer's house. David broke the upstairs railing, that was pretty exciting. The girl's won "four men on a couch", Lerah was stupid and throwing water all over people (those were Lerah's exact words) and it was thrown in her face, down her shirt. OH!!! And Lerah took out her (Okay, we're having an argument over what this thing should be called. Like, an earring for your lip, or like, a straightpost in her lip or like, the jewelry poked through her face...) so, yeah, she took that out and then squirted water through it cause Diane asked her to. It was freakin' awesome! She's like a fountain. Oh, and we discussed going around and putting clothes on all the Michelangelo David statues that are at those statue stores on Monroe street. Like, dressing them up for a night on the town one night. Yes. Oh, and we explored October. No, "explore October" is not a movie title, although it sounds like one. The movies you're thinking of are "October Sky" and the "Hunt for Red October." Just to let you know. So, we went outside and did just what I said we did. We explored October. We decided that October is a very agreeable month. The weather's very nice and it's pretty out. I cheated death also. See, Todd says I have this "Final Destination" thing going on, and we layed down in the middle of the road to look at the stars and I didn't even die. Yes! And I spilled diet coke on myself because I tried to take a sip of it while I was lying down. Not a good idea. So me and Lerah flew around like birds, gracefully, she says, and waited for my shirt to dry so I didn't look like a complete idiot when I went inside. (Although, now that I think about it, flying around like a bird outside is much more idiotic than spilling coke on myself. I mean, people spill stuff on themselves all the time, but it's very rare that someone flies around like a bird. Just a thought.) And then we saw some flashlights going around in the next door neighbor's realm and they were searching for us, but they couldn't find us because we were such clever birds. At least that's what Lerah's telling me. So, they didn't find us.
So, then when the Smallville marathon ("crap" says Lerah) started, we left to go find bigger and better things to do. So what better thing to do at 12:00 at night but go to Walmart? So we're going to find some Fiji water and to Lerah's great distress, we can't find any. We even asked. The guy's exact words I think, were, "I ain't neva' hurda dat." Oh, and we saw Auburn icecream. It had orange swirls and blue and orange fudge-filled footballs. So, of course, I called Sarah. But she didn't answer. So then we headed to the clothes section to find the shirt that Lerah had bought today because I wanted to see the other colors. So, then Lerah spots the best mullet specimen ever seen my mankind. Seriously. We wanted to take a picture, because it was freakin' awesome (not awesome in a good way, but, you know) , but we didn't want to be conspicous so I decided to pose with a random FAMU T-shirt in the guy's section near where the lady was standing so that Lerah could pretend to take a picture of me, but actually take a picture of the mullet specimen. So, this is the picture:

Who thought that was a good idea? Notice Lerah's very good job of being inconspicous. So you'll have to use your imagination to see like, the whole thing, but it was awesome. Then the lady (The Walmart Nazi) comes up to us and says, "[deep, not unexpected, voice] Ladies, the Walmart policy states that we may not take picture inside the store. I'm gonna have to ask you to put the camera away." Well, we'd gotten what we wanted, so we were perfectly okay with dat. And we ran away so we could go laugh behind a clothes rack. Then we picked up a 20 oz. coke (not Lerah's, cough cough.) and a pack of Big Red gum and headed to the "20 items or less" checkout lane. The lady who's checking us out is named Svitlana and I was thinking, "Hmmm, I wonder if she's Russian?" because you don't see the name Svitlana very much. So, I said to her "I really like your name. It's so pretty." Cause I like the name Sveta a lot and it's so pretty. And she was like, "Thank you." Then Lerah said, "How do you say that?" And she said "Svitlana. I'm from Ukraine." Well, I sorta freaked out at that point. It was awesome. I was like, "I've been to Ukraine!" And she got really excited and was like, "Really? Where did you go?" So I start naming places; "Kyiv, Zhitomir, Chernigiv, Odessa..." And she says, "I'm from Odessa!" So then she says, "Do you know Russian?" And so I answered that I only knew a little, but I study it in college in Russian and she was very excited. So, she bagged up our coke and gum and I said, "spaseeba" and she said, "pazhalsta" and then I told her goodnight and me and Lerah left. I was so pumped! So I called Jake to tell him because I knew he would be excited. And he was. I love Jake.
So me and Lerah finally made it home and we watched just about the best movie ever, Moulin Rouge. We ate lifesaver gummies and Lerah munched on popcorn and we analyzed the movie because we'd both seen it and that was fun. We decided that guys who wear scarves and French-styled hats are hot! (along with thumb rings and...chicken, of course. Because hot chicken is good chicken. And hot Shannon is good Shannon. :0) And Nicole Kidman proved to us that pale people can still be drop-dead gorgeous. So there's hope for us. Make it known that we are starting a club for all the fair-skinned, not able to tan, pigmently-challenged people of the world. Pale people of the world-UNITE!
Well, now that it's 3 in the morning, we should go to bed, because we have church in the morning. You know, church. One last picture for you all:

This is not really an okay picture, but we're tired, okay? And we're still pretty much the coolest ever. Arrivederci!
